InfoExpress Welcomes Microsoft-Cisco Security Collaboration
Industry Standards Will Facilitate Endpoint Security Enforcement
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, OCTOBER 21, 2004 — InfoExpress,
the leader in policy and configuration enforcement solutions, today
welcomed the collaborative effort between Microsoft Corp. and Cisco
Systems, Inc. to ensure machines connecting to a network are compliant
with enterprise security policies before being granted access. The
InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper® family of policy enforcement solutions
provides this protection today, and InfoExpress is actively partnering
with others to give businesses greater flexibility, control and
protection for their networks through integrated policy enforcement
solutions for centrally managing security and vulnerabilities.
"InfoExpress supports the cooperation between Cisco and Microsoft
because it helps standardize interfaces for policy enforcement solutions,"
said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. "A uniform interface,
de facto or standards-based, will benefit our customers by reducing
the number of interfaces required to deploy this critical technology
and improving interoperability among products."
CyberGatekeeper hardens existing networks by giving access only
to compliant systems while keeping potentially dangerous systems
out. CyberGatekeeper ensures that all network endpoints are fully
scanned and audited against the enterprise security policy. Non-compliant
systems are automatically quarantined until remediation brings them
into compliance. Unlike endpoint enforcement solutions, CyberGatekeeper
restricts access for all non-compliant systems, even those without
the agent or client software installed.
The CyberGatekeeper family consists of CyberGatekeeper LAN and
CyberGatekeeper Remote. CyberGatekeeper Remote enforces security
policy on all computers attempting to make remote access connections,
whether they are using VPN technology or traditional dial-up access,
while CyberGatekeeper LAN monitors switches for newly activated
ports.
