InfoExpress Joins Network Admission Control Program
Flagship CyberGatekeeper Extends NAC Functionality to Guard
Networks, Enforce Security Policies
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., November 11, 2004 —
InfoExpress, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise network security
solutions, today announced it has joined the Network Admission Control
(NAC) Program, an industry effort led by Cisco Systems. InfoExpress
will integrate its flagship CyberGatekeeper® security policy
enforcement solution with NAC components such as the Cisco Trust
Agent and Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS). Through this
integration, CyberGatekeeper will add extensive policy management
and remediation features to a NAC-enabled infrastructure, providing
the ability to audit any endpoint configuration, applications, and
custom software, to quarantine and remediate non-compliant endpoints.
The NAC program is an industry effort led by Cisco Systems that
uses the network infrastructure to enforce security policy compliance
on all devices seeking to access network computing resources, thereby
limiting damage from viruses and worms.
"Having InfoExpress' CyberGatekeeper integrated into
the NAC program will foreseeably advance our ability to enforce
granular security policies on all endpoints and give us added assurance
that non-compliant, infected or rogue devices do not enter our network,"
said Marc Goff, technical services manager of Red Bull North America.
InfoExpress‘ intent is to continue working with Cisco to
develop solutions for the NAC program to give businesses greater
flexibility, control and protection for their networks through integrated
policy enforcement solutions for centrally managing security and
vulnerabilities. The InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper family of policy
enforcement solutions ensures machines connecting to a network are
compliant with enterprise security policies before being granted
access.
"InfoExpress pioneered policy-based network access control
solutions, realizing early on that securing network entry points
would be necessary as traditional network perimeters dissolved,"
said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. "With this integration,
customers deploying network admission control capabilities in their
network will benefit from the broad policy management, distribution
and inspection infrastructure provided by CyberGatekeeper."
CyberGatekeeper hardens existing networks by assessing endpoint
compliance to policies, granting network access to compliant systems
and helping to keep unsafe systems out. CyberGatekeeper scans and
audits all endpoints against the enterprise security policy. Non-compliant
systems are automatically quarantined until remediation brings them
into compliance. Unlike endpoint enforcement solutions, CyberGatekeeper
restricts access for all non-compliant systems, even those without
the agent or client software installed.
"Network admission control enables organizations to reduce
risk by preventing vulnerable hosts from obtaining and retaining
normal network access," said Russell Rice, manager of product
marketing in Cisco's Security and Technology Group. "To
achieve comprehensive protection, we encourage cooperation with
technology vendors like InfoExpress -- their involvement in the
NAC effort is an important component to the program's success."
