InfoExpress Launches Technology Alliance Partner Program
Seeks Widespread Integration with its Industry-leading CyberGatekeeper
Policy Enforcement Solution for More Secure Networks
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., November 29, 2004 —
InfoExpress, the leader in policy and configuration enforcement
solutions, today launched the InfoExpress Technology Alliance Partner
Program, a new cooperative technology, sales and marketing program
created to enhance the security of a wide array of network hardware
and software products by integrating them with InfoExpress'
CyberGatekeeper, the industry-leading policy enforcement technology.
InfoExpress also announced four initial alliance partners: Airespace,
Inc., BigFix, Inc., iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS) and Juniper Networks,
Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR).
With policy enforcement emerging as a key component of overall
enterprise network security, the InfoExpress Technology Alliance
Partner Program supports the growing interest in these types of
solutions by leading network infrastructure, network security, remote
access, wireless network and other vendors as an effective way to
address their customers' needs for greater security. The integrated
policy enforcement provided by InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper technology
gives customers a more efficient and secure way to deploy the latest
network technologies, as well as greater flexibility, control and
protection for their networks by ensuring that machines connected
to a network are in compliance with enterprise security policies
before being granted access. The program will include joint development
efforts to tightly integrate the InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper technology
with partner products, as well as combined sales and marketing activities
to promote the joint solutions.
"More broad connectivity to the enterprise network is a
mixed blessing that can keep IT professionals awake at night worrying
about the malicious and unintentional threats that could be introduced
by the connected devices," said Todd Nakano, executive vice
president for InfoExpress. "By integrating our CyberGatekeeper
technology with their products, vendors can ensure that their customers
are able to deploy these network technologies easily and with peace
of mind in knowing that only policy-compliant devices can access
their networks."
CyberGatekeeper hardens existing networks by only giving access
to compliant systems while keeping potentially dangerous systems
out. CyberGatekeeper ensures that all network endpoints are fully
scanned and audited against the enterprise security policy. Non-compliant
systems are automatically quarantined until remediation brings them
into compliance. Unlike endpoint enforcement solutions, CyberGatekeeper
restricts access for all non-compliant systems, even those without
the agent or client software installed.
"This new program helps formalize the technology interfaces
of InfoExpress and Juniper Networks, and provides a clear complement
to the Juniper Endpoint Defense Initiative," said David Flynn,
vice president products, Security Products Group, Juniper Networks.
"Technical integration enhances the endpoint-defense support
in the NetScreen Secure Access SSL VPN appliances, and assures our
common customers that both firms are committed to interoperability.
Mutual participation in complementary alliances is as important
as the technology integration, because customers can deploy the
combined solution without the worry of integration headaches and
while enjoying the benefits of a best-of-breed solution."
"The InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper scan, audit and quarantine
technology is a perfect complement to the BigFix Enterprise Suite,
our scaleable, real-time security configuration management platform,"
said Gregory Toto, vice president of product management at BigFix.
"With the BigFix Enterprise Suite and CyberGatekeeper, the
enterprise is in full control – based on customer-defined
policies, non-compliant computers are either kept off the network,
or are automatically remediated without end-user intervention, and
smoothly and securely given access. The combined BigFix-InfoExpress
solution provides a new level of control and simplicity for enterprises
to manage their computers, no matter where and how they connect
to the network."
"It's no longer enough simply to keep mobile workers
connected; enterprises must also secure multiple points of vulnerability
in the connection process, from the user's device to the corporate
network, and the data flow between them," said Jon Russo,
vice president of marketing at iPass. "Expanding our relationship
with InfoExpress to include integration between CyberGatekeeper
technology and our Policy Orchestration framework enables a new
dimension of trust, giving enterprise customers added confidence
that only policy-compliant devices can access their networks."
"Wireless clients are not only vulnerable to the same viruses
and worms that affect devices on wired LANs, but they are also exposed
to additional threats when used in untrusted Wi-Fi hotspots,"
said Alan Cohen, vice president of marketing and product management
at Airespace. "By integrating our leading WLAN security capabilities
with InfoExpress' network access control technology, we are
able to provide complete WLAN protection, extending WLAN security
from the infrastructure all the way out to the edge."
