InfoExpress Broadens Reach with Trusted Network Connect Support
Interoperability with Other TNC-Compliant Products To Protect Networks, Systems and Data From Viruses, Malware and Other Attacks

NETWORLD+INTEROP, LAS VEGAS, Nevada, May 3, 2005 – Continuing to expand its interoperability across a variety of network environments, InfoExpress, the leader in policy and configuration enforcement solutions, today announced its support for the Trusted Network Connect (TNC) architecture to protect public and enterprise networks. InfoExpress will demonstrate its TNC-compliant CyberGatekeeper® solution in Trusted Computing Group (TCG) booth #1075 at the Networld+Interop show being held here this week. TNC was developed by InfoExpress and approximately 60 other members of the TCG, whose open specifications help vendors build products that protect critical data and information.

Designed to support heterogeneous, multi-vendor environments, TNC is an open solution architecture for determining the level of security and "safe-computing" policy compliance of users and devices seeking to attach to a network, and then providing an appropriate level of network access based on the level of compliance. InfoExpress’ CyberGatekeeper network access control solution enforces its compliance decisions by communicating directly with network infrastructure devices – LAN switches, wireless access points, VPN servers and 802.1x-enabled gear – through the software interfaces and protocols defined by the various network environments such as TNC, Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) and Network Admission Control (NAC). Non-compliant devices are isolated on a "restricted" or "remediation" network, protecting the rest of the organization from potentially risky systems.

"InfoExpress is committed to supporting a broad array of network environments because we believe network administrators should not have to be locked in to any single vendor’s solutions to be able to achieve this level of security for their organizations," said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. "We support a number of major initiatives including the TNC architecture and TCG’s open and non-proprietary approach, NAC, and upcoming efforts from Microsoft, to determining endpoint health and access to the network."

InfoExpress and several other partners are working together with the technical framework for Trusted Network Connect to provide a live demonstration that incorporates fundamental aspects of trusted computing. The TNC specification provides customers with interoperable solutions from multiple vendors, giving them greater choice in selecting components best suited for their requirements. Importantly, this framework will be an open industry standard that will enable development of products suitable for heterogeneous environments. The first phase of the architecture will offer two standardized APIs to address the exchange of compliance data and results between systems requesting network access and policy decision points.

CyberGatekeeper safeguards production networks by assessing endpoint compliance to policies, granting network access to compliant systems and helping to keep unsafe systems out. CyberGatekeeper scans and audits all endpoints against the enterprise security policy. Non-compliant systems are automatically quarantined until remediation brings them into compliance. Unlike endpoint enforcement solutions, CyberGatekeeper restricts access for all non-compliant systems, even those without the agent or client software installed.

About Trusted Computing Group
TCG is an industry standards body formed to develop, define, and promote open standards for trusted computing and security technologies, including hardware building blocks and software interfaces, across multiple platforms, peripherals, and devices. TCG specifications are designed to enable more secure computing environments, with the primary goal of helping users to protect their information assets from compromise due to external software attack and physical theft.
More information and the organization’s specifications are available at the Trusted Computing Group’s Web site, www.trustedcomputinggroup.org.

About InfoExpress
InfoExpress network security solutions protect enterprise networks and the endpoints connecting to them. The company has provided network access control solutions since 2000. At the core of InfoExpress solutions is the CyberGatekeeper Suite, which ensures endpoints are safe and compliant with security policies by performing real-time audits and quarantining of all network-attached endpoints. Additionally, CyberArmor, an enterprise endpoint firewall supplies further security to endpoints connected to the Internet. Today, hundreds of network security-conscious organizations use InfoExpress technology to secure their networks.
