InfoExpress Wins Editors’ Choice Award from Communication News
2005 Contributed Article Recognized for Value of Content and Industry Relevance

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., February 2, 2006 —InfoExpress, the leader in policy and configuration enforcement solutions, today announced that Communications News magazine selected InfoExpress as a winner of a 2005 Editors’ Choice Award for an article published in the March 2005 issue of the publication. The article, “Reduce the Threat from Computers,” was judged the honorable mention winner in the magazine’s network security category.

“We are honored to be recognized by one of the industry’s leading publications,” said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. “The award reflects our commitment to providing customers with practical solutions that enhance the security of their networks.”

The 2005 Editors’ Choice Awards recognized 19 companies for their outstanding editorial contributions to Communications News. Ten first-place winners and nine honorable mention selections were announced. All articles published in the magazine in 2005 were considered for the awards, which recognize the usefulness of information provided; creativity in presenting the challenge and solution; editorial craftsmanship; whether the information is a carefully researched, in-depth feature dealing with subjects or developments of importance to the magazine's readers; and whether the article informed readers on how to do their jobs better, more efficiently and more productively.

According to Communications News Editor Ken Anderberg, "This year's selections were very difficult, due to the generally high quality of contributed articles published by the magazine during the year. In the evaluation process, the editors focused on some key elements to come to our final decisions, including creativity in presenting the challenge and solution and whether the article informed readers on how to do their jobs better, more efficiently and more productively."

The InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper network access control solution uses an organization's existing network infrastructure to block network access for wired, wireless and remote endpoint devices that have outdated, unauthorized, misconfigured or missing security utilities, such as anti-virus programs and personal firewalls, or otherwise fail to comply with corporate-mandated security policies.  Non-compliant systems are quarantined and remediated before being allowed access to the network, ensuring that viruses, worms, Trojans and other malware and vulnerabilities cannot adversely affect the network through PCs, laptops, PDAs and other devices that fail to comply with current security policies.
